Saturday Critters ~ 200 ~

It has been cloudy, gloomy and drizzly here the last few days...stay at home days.
I love staying home and these past few days
I have been giving the birds extra treats and taking pictures.
These pictures would have benefited from a little sunshine but we work with what we have.

Here are some of the yard birds I see every day...

I had a lot of fun with the Blue Jays...
they often take two or three peanuts at a time.
Yesterday, I watched them hiding the nuts, which I have never seen them do before.
One Blue Jay was hiding nuts,
another came right behind him and dug the nut up!

Many thanks to
Eileen at Viewing Nature With Eileen
for 200 amazing weeks of hosting all of us as we share our love for critters and nature.
Thank you Eileen, you are a wonderful host and an amazing blogging friend.

I'm also sharing today with Anni at

We also experienced a lack of sunshine yesterday as we drove about, partly gazing at foliage.

Wow, 3 at a time! Those Bluejays are cheeky characters. Even the backyard rabbit ran, when one swooped down. probably scared by the noise. ,-)

The gray and coming rain, have reached us. and cooler temps. for which I am GRATEFUL!!! I have been at war with both stink bugs and box elder bugs!!! they swarm on south windows and get in! then they swarm inside! last year we were killing the box elders all winter.

this autumn, I went after them!!!! inside and out. and he did too, of course, inside. and now, with cooler and no afternoon sun, they seem to have left. I say, "The Word Is Out"!!! Don't Land On The House!!!! She is on a Bug Rampage!!!! Heh,heh,heh..

Stunning shots! Yes, those funny bluejays! Love them! I have their cousins, the Scrub Jays and Steller's Jays here and they keep me entertained.

Oh! I love this set of pictures. Blue Jays can be so entertaining. I have watched them stick a peanut into the grass, then take a dried leaf and place it over the 'hidden' peanut. One gust of wind and the leaf would be gone.

Love all your feeder birds, but especially the Jays with their lunch! It was cold and rainy here this week too... difference being that I don't have bird feeders outside my window. But I too like staying home sometimes.

Each and everyone, so unique and beautiful. I no longer get such a variety of birds where I live now so thank you for sharing yours with me!

We have many of the same backyard birds! Great capture of the bluejays! Mine never want to stay still very long or like to hang out super high in the oak tree. I was just reading they bury acorns in the fall so they must be doing the same with the peanuts. Hope you have a great Sunday!

What neat photos...your close ups are awesome. And it's funny about the blue jay. The one probably looked around and said I hope you choke on that nut! haha! Hugs!

Wow you have a good assortment to watch, that is too funny about the blue jay, I haven't heard about them hiding their nuts, sounds like they have been watching the squirrels too much :) that is funny that the other ones were digging them back up. Have a great week!

Always love your awesome bird photos. I think the Blue Jay's are lovely. What they did was very interesting. Maybe birds are getting smarter.
You seem to always manage to catch their personalities too. Sending big hugs your way!
